15 hour Funding
We are delighted to confirm that St John’s Preschool has been selected to offer families 15 hours of funded sessions!
We have surveyed our parents and carers and have discovered that the majority of people would like their funded hours to include the lunch hour, so that is the way we are offering it.

Families will be able to book their children in for any combination of mornings, afternoons and lunch clubs, knowing that government funding will cover 15 hours of that time. This will allow parents to book their children in for 3 full days resulting in a charge for only 3 hours per week!

Pancake Day 2010
We celebrated Pancake Day at St John's with the older children buddying up with the younger one's to make their own batch of pancakes.
Healthy eating
We also promote healthy eating at St John's, here are some photos of our youngest children helping themselves to snack.
Road safety
We had a visit from WPC Ella Penwell yesterday, 23rd June, she came in to talk to the children about road safety and generally how helpful the police are. We had a lovely day and were delighted with how well the children interacted with her and then played at being policemen and ladies after she had gone!
Bikes
Thanks to some excellent funding from the local Children's Centre, our children are learning to ride bikes. We are hoping that by the time they leave our Foundation Stage Unit (so by the end of their reception year) most children will be able to ride a two wheel bike without stabilisers!
St George's Day
On St George's Day the staff in the Foundation Unit entertained the children by acting out the story of St George and the Dragon, the children enjoyed watching and taking part and went on to re-enact their own versions
Grand Opening - Wednesday 22nd April
We had a Grand Opening on Wednesday 22nd April, there was a lovely turn out. This was the highlight of what has been a huge project providing an excellent play area for the children aged 3 to 5 attending our Foundation Unit: many thanks go to so many different people and organisations for their input and enthusiasm along the way:
